WAKE UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

Congratulations, once more, to ANA H's team. They're doing a splendid job, specially some of its members, who are working really hard (however, Luis, I will revise your marks personally after Easter, and if they get lower... you won't be able to play any more! Your marks are more important than my enigmas... aren't they? he he ;) Please, don't forget that you have to study as well; anyway, good job).

I would also send some "mini-congratulations" to Ramona's team, who got the solution ON TIME but they forgot to write all the teachers' names... Anyway, I think Roberto, Julio, Raquel, Rosana and Almudena are sleeping! So... wake up!!!
I'm also sorry about Mirian, Elena, Esther... (CCSS), you must be FASTER!
Another "WAKE UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP"!!! To the rest of groups at the CCSS class.
P.S.: I've had a great time this morning with the CCNN class at the LABORATORY... Is it how you spend your time? Playing with iron balls? Hahaha! It's been funny. I hope I have the chance to visit you at the lab again!

Enigma IV solved

CONGRATULATIONS one more time, LUIS, for having solved the 4th enigma!!!

You're really good at thinking! I'm sure your team is proud of you!
However,
If I were a 2nd Bach student I would get as ready as I could...
Because in order to solve my next enigma (let's call it hierogliphic this time), you'll have to be really good at English...

... Next enigma won't be easy at all... ha ha ha
AREN'T YOU FRIGHTENED?

Enigma II solved

CONGRATULATIONS to Luis (CCNN), who has just solved the enigma. I thought nobody was going to, and although Juan S. was very close to the solution this morning, it is Ana H.'s team who scores the 4 points.

Congratulations again and keep on thinking... In some minutes you'll have the new classification updated.
I'll let you have a little rest until you get the new enigma...
WELL DONE!!!!

Ok so... Nobody's going to solve the enigma? Is it so difficult for you... ? Fine...

ENIGMA II

Once upon a time, an old man lived with his beautiful and clever daughter, Beth. The man had sadly lost his wife many years before, and had always been in charge of looking after her beloved daughter, whose beauty was well-known in the shire.

They had always had good harvest, with which they fed their cows and sheep and from which they got some money when they sold them in the market.

Unfortunaly, that year a terrible storm devastated their crops. However, the old farmer had some savings, which he used to buy food that winter for them and also to feed their animals. Both the farmer and Beth spent those months working as hard as they could so as to get good crops the following spring.

Although they expected an abundant harvest, a terrible storm destroyed the crops some days before harvesting them. There was nothing they could do except praying, because they had no money left, no savings, no food...

Unexpectedly, the marquis of the shire was walking that day round there, and he heard Beth crying. She told him what had happened, so he offered to help: he would give them the money they needed for the winter. Nevertheless, they would have to give him back double the amount he had lent them when they had harvested the following crops.

The following winter passed by and father and daughter worked harder and harder as the deadline came nearer, but it hadn't rained for several months, so they couldn't gather the money which had been lent to them months before. When spring came, the marquis of the shire arrived with some soldiers and asked for his money, having to admitt that they could not give it back to him.

The marquis got really angry, and promised to hang the farmer if he did not give him the money back. As a result, Beth started to cry and begged for his father. She told the marquis she would do anything, but she asked the marquis and his soldiers not to kill his father.

The marquis, which found the situation quite funny, decided to give another chance to those poor people, and said: "OK, let's bet on a new game. I won't kill your father as long as you play a game with me. This road is plenty of black and white stones. I will ask one of my soldiers to bring a black bag. Afterwards, I will put a black stone and a white stone inside it. Next, you will take one stone out of the bag: if the stone is white, your father will be free and you won't have to give me any money back. On the other hand, if you take the black stone, I will kill your father, I will keep your farm and you will have to marry me. Deal?".

Beth, who knew how powerful the marquis was, and knowing she had no other chance, agreed to do it. A soldier brought the black bag but... the marquis introduced two BLACK stones inside the bag!!! Beth knew she could not say what she had seen because the marquis would kill both her father and her; they could not run away either... However, Beth was the cleverest girl in the area, so she was able to solve the problem in a clever way without risking their lives...

How did she do it???

Happy Valentine's Day!

For those who are in love (in love with a girl, a boy, a friend...), for those who just love (a girl, a boy, a friend, a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a pet, who just love life...), I would like to say

HAVE A NICE DAY!

Even for those who don't like Saint Valentine's Day, I'm sure they'll find good reasons to celebrate love (with friends, family...). It's always well worth it.

And for the most romantic ones, some words which I read several years ago and which represent LOVE in capital letters:

"You fill up my senses,

like a storm in a desert,

like a night in a forest"

(Llenas mis sentidos,

como una tormenta en un desierto,

como una noche en un bosque)

P.s.: I have had a GREAT, GREAT time with the Rephrasing Competition in both Bachilleratos!!! It's getting more and more exciting!

P.s.: By the way, congratulations to Juan Sevillano for having solved the first enigma!

P.s.: Before the day finishes, you'll have the second enigma in the blog... hihihi

Rephrasing Championship CLASSIFICATION

Do you want to score 3 POINTS for your team?

The first team in telling me the answer (anywhere: in class, the canteen, the corridor...) will be scored 3 points:

If you divide ELEVEN by TWO times, the result is SIX (that is, 11:2 = 6).

Now, break your heads and tell me WHY this result is CORRECT.

P.s.: Whether you study at CCNN or CCSS class doesn't matter. Maybe the fact of being good at mathematics doesn't solve this problem...

Will you be my Valentine?

St Valentine's Day is coming. I would like to say "HAVE A NICE DAY!" and "THANK YOU FOR BEING SO LOVELY!" to those pupils who make my days at Guadalerzas funnier, easier and in general... better! I'm sure these students know who I am talking about.

P.s.: Start thinking about the letters you will have to write in the English class to the people you love!

Carnival in Yébenes

I've had such a great time! We even had the chance of having a picture taken with "Mr Toledo", haha. Most of our students at Guadalerzas were funnily dressed! It's been quite an experience seeing all the "show" from the town hall!
