IESO Nº 1 de Méntrida

Hi everybody!!!

Here I am, starting a new course at the IESO Nº1 in Méntrida... I'm the new English teacher for 4th ESO Diver, two 2nd ESO and I'm the tutor of a 3rd ESO...

This High School seems completely different to Guadalerzas... I miss my students and workmates there so much!

Anyway, this course seems to be full of surprises, so let's hope they're nice ones!

Good Luck to my 4th ESO students at Guadalerzas who are starting 1st Bachillerato, and also good luck to my 2º Bachillerato students who have become university students... (much funnier, really!).

Summer in Hull

These are some of the best moments lived both with other teachers at Hull university and with our group of children... It's been an amazing summer. We've learnt a lot of English but, above all, we've made good friends.

Granada: so, so, so great!

We had a fantastic time during our end-of-year trip... Unfortunately, it was just three days long, BUT quite enough to have fun and enjoy ourselves... We laughed, drank, danced, talked, shared, went shopping, visited the Alhambra...

Enigma IX solved!

Congratulations Esther & Narcisa (each of you scores 2 points for her team)!!! It was a song by Annie Lennox, which was included in Bram Stoker's "Dracula". It's a love song which deals with love among vampires.


If you haven't seen the film, I strongly recommend it! It's amazing. What's more, the book is even better! (much more frightening!).

Enigma VIII solved

Congratulations to Julio & Roberto, who defying the laws of gravity (that is, the CCSS boys blocking the door and, what's worst, their Physics & Chemistry teacher asking them not to do anything related to the English subject in her class), solved the 8th enigma. WELL DONE!

I would also like to congratulate Fran, because he solved the enigma as well, though later, and during my class. Today, and exceptionally, you also score 3 points for your team!

Did you have fun? I did! Julio has a great future as an actor... I'm sure Alberto is still thinking about his dog... he couldn't stop listening to it. Rosa and Raquel were great with their witchy hats...

By the way, the final dance performed by Julio and Alberto while Alan was playing the bagpipe was "amazing"... The most important thing was that you had a good time, and I think you did.
